Rachel Murphy has expressed deep concern over the traumatic experience his five-pound dog, Toto , went through last weekend. Rachel said that after Toto r was bitten by a dog, the groomer taped his mouth shut. The result? A bloody, distressed dog.
Rachel recounted, "My dog was clearly in distress. What I initially thought was a muzzle turned out to be tape. Toto r’s paws appeared to be red and inflicted with injuries. The toenails had been cut too near to the paw which probably triggered his biting response."
Wow! My Dog is a mobile pet salon that employed the groomer who was responsible for these actions.
Rachel took Toto immediately to the vet for immediate medical attention. He has accused Wow! My Dog of animal abuse, joining numerous others who have made similar allegations. San Mateo's Office has now launched an animal cruelty investigation into Wow! My Dog.
Rachel described what animal abuse in zoos statistics he saw. "I noticed injuries near the joints, in the neck area, and around the genital areas." The cuts were so deep that they caused blood to flow."
Marianna De las Vegas - a Wow! My Dog client - posted a Yelp comment detailing how his pets had been returned to him unwell or injure. A Snapchat video captured by a customer showed a dog with obvious pain. He claimed that the groomer had forcedly inserted a towel into its ear.
Bad Review
In addition to the damning Yelp reviews, Wow! My Dog wants customers to be aware of what the groomer told him, as someone they had entrusted with their pets' well-being. Rachel shared: "Juliann told that I should tape my mouth shut as it was an acceptable and normal method. Juliann claimed this is better than a muzzle because he thinks a dog can get hurt by using one. He said that he uses the method himself on his dogs.
Gate News called Wow! My Dog, and she answered but immediately handed the phone to a female who said they were investigating these allegations. But when Puppy was brought up, she said it was a different entity and ended the call abruptly.
